Wildlife and Nature Photography My passion is wildlife photography and the challenge of finding the critters and then capturing them unharmed in digital photographs. While I live in Wisconsin, I have traveled to many of the other US states and several countries, leveraging National Parks and Wildlife Refuges as I look for subjects. All animals shown here were photographed live in the wild, unless documented to the contrary. I also enjoy shooting landscapes that focus on natural settings, and on occasion shoot various events. All of my photographs and video productions are copyrighted with all Rights Reserved unless I have provided you with a Copyright Release.
Milky Way and Comet NEOWISE: July 23, 2020, Comet NEOWISE came as close to Earth as it was going to get; my son and I took a few hour trip to a dark spot based on light pollution maps. We ended up near Tomah Wisconsin, and we parked deep within the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge and took pictures for about 1 ½ hrs; photos are HERE!
Milky Way, Jupiter, Saturn: On July 4, 2021, after watching fireworks at Gills Rock (northern tip of the Door Peninsula in Door County, Wisconsin), we went to Newport State Park near Ellison Bay, Wisconsin. With 11 miles of protected shoreline on Lake Michigan, Newport is Wisconsin's only wilderness-designated state park; in 2017, the International Dark-Sky Association named Newport a Dark-sky preserve. Photos are HERE!
