2016 June Strawberry Full Moon
June's full moon has many names including the Strawberry Moon, Mead Moon, Rose Moon, Thunder Moon, and the "Honey Moon" too.
Here it is rising over Waukesha Wisconsin, about 8:15pm 6/20/16 shot with a Canon 7D Mark II using a 100-400mm IS L II (at 400mm) and a 1.4x III teleconverter -- an equivalent of about 900mm or 18x magnification, then cropped to 25% making this shot about 70x closer than we see it with our eyes! (with minor Photoshop adjustments for clarity added).
If I did the math right, if you were on one of the Apollo moon missions in the 1970’s and you were 3,400 miles away from the moon, this is what it could have looked like out your window!
